Margie Etea Crawford, 93, of Eagle Point, died Aug. 19, 2009 at Isabella English, an adult foster care home in Eagle Point.
She was born to James Melvin Towe and Nancy Lee (Garland) Towe on Feb. 11, 1916, near Clarksville, Arkansas. On Nov. 19, 1932, she married Bud Crawford of Oklahoma. During their married life, they moved to Los Angeles, then Crescent City, Calif., and finally to Medford.
She loved to work in her garden and was an avid crafter. Her quilts and afghans were much sought after. She made and lovingly presented one to each of her family members. She enjoyed attending church and even when her sight and hearing began to fail, she listened to Bible stories and her favorite hymns on tapes and CDs.
Ms. Crawford believed in making the best of what you have and she was an unfailing source of good and sound advice on a wide range of topics. When she could no longer live on her own, she went to live with Bev and Mike Glasgow in their foster care home. They became part of her extended family. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sons, Troy T., James “Sonny” (Gail)and Roy Don (Linda); brothers, Jay and Jimmy; her sister, Edith Marie Russell; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family requests donations in Margie Crawford’s memory be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements by Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.
