Marion“Shorty” Miller, 83, of White City, died Aug. 5, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Miller was born Nov. 25, 1925 in cushing, Okla., to Edgar and Virginia (Perryman) Miller. In 1946, in Los Angeles, he married Arlene O. Hatch, who survives. They came to southern Oregon from the Happy Camp, Calif. area 37 years ago, where he worked in the woods logging in the summers and sawmills in the winters. He worked for KOGAP Lumber from 1971 until he retired in 1988.
He was in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. And Mrs. Miller were members of the Trinity Baptist Church in White City. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene,; three sons, Danny Earl Miller, Shingletown, Calif., Michael Lee Miller, Fairfield, Calif. and Kenneth Lyle Miller, Brookings, Ore.; a brother, Edward Miller, Medford; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Miller was Aug. 8 at Memory Gardens Chapel. Memory Gardens Memorial Park & Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
