EPHS volleyball 1-1 last week

The Eagle Point High School Volleyball team took to the road last week for two road match-ups, the first against the Hidden Valley High School Mustangs on Tuesday night. The Eagles played well enough to be competitive, but in the end did not have enough to win, losing the three games of the match, 18-25, 19-25 and 17-25. Senior Hannah Mason, who has been out with illness, lead the Eagles with nine kills. The Eagles JV team lost two games to zero, and the Freshman team took home a victory.

On Thursday night the Eagles visited the Pirates of Phoenix High School. The night ended up being a long, wild one with both teams going toe-to-toe. The Eagles took the fist game, 25-23, only to have Phoenix come back in the second game sending Eagle Point to the 13-25 loss. Eagle Point would win the third game in extra play, 26-24 and Phoenix evened it out in the fourth game with the Eagles losing 20-25. Eagle Point finally prevailed in the match’s finale, winning 15-11. The Eagles were lead by seniors Kristen Wyatt, who registered 20 kills and 17 digs, and Hannah Mason who had nine kills and four blocks. Sophomores, Christine McCready contributed with four kills and five blocks, and Carolina Regalado who set the entire match, added 6 aces for the night. Eagle Point’s JV and freshman teams both won two games to zero.

Eagle Point will return to their home court this Thursday night against defending conference champions Ashland High School. JV and freshman games begin at 5:45pm with the Varsity match starts at 7:00pm. Come out and support the Eagles as they take on their Southern Sky Conference opponents.
