Everett M. Young, 87, died Sept. 8, 2009 at Eagle Cove Assisted Living, in Eagle Point.
He was born Jan. 14, 1922 and raised in Central Point, and attended Willow Springs Country School and Gold Hill High School. He was a rancher and dairy farmer all his life and totally loved the outdoors and his dogs.
Mr. Young served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941-1945 and since that time had a love of airplanes. He was an avid sportsman, hunting, fishing and dancing were among his favorite pastimes. He also loved southern gospel music and listened to it every night. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and sharing it with friends.
Mr. Young is survived by three children; David Sills, Myrna Wright and Greg Young; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Lois.
A private graveside service was held Sept. 11 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Medford,. with a celebration of life at Sept. 12 at Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel. Donations in Mr. Young’s memory may be made to Future Farmers of America, Crater High School, Central Point.
