EPHS volleyball suppporting DiG PiNK

This month thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in the DiG PiNK National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. High School and College teams will be promoting Breast health education in the community as well as raising funds to help eradicate Breast Cancer.

The Eagle Point High Volleyball Team will be holding a DiG PiNK rally during their volleyball match versus Crater High School on Tuesday, Oct. 27. DiG PiNK attendees will watch the girls compete on the court while contributing to breast health awareness by making a statement and wearing something PINK in the stands. Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Event t-shirts will be available for purchase for $10 and are now on sale.

Donations can be made during the match or online at eaglepointvb.com, just clink on the DiG PiNK button in the right hand corner. Eagle Point High School will be donating $1 from each paid admission to support the Side-Out Foundation.

All proceeds from all donations will benefit the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) located in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.

White City Medical Clinic is graciously sponsoring this year’s event. For more information about the event or if you would like to be a sponsor, please contact Rob Kleker at rob_kleker@charter.net or at 541-840-5499.

Learn more about DiG Pink at www.digpink.org. The Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) located in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. They have raised thousands of thousands of dollars for Breast Cancer research nationally through volleyball tournaments, clinics, and rallies. Funds are currently devoted to targeted therapies and molecular profiling which is where there is a hot bed of research activity.  Their name underscores the purpose of the organization – “Side-Out” in volleyball occurs when one team wins a point while its opponent is serving, thereby regaining serve or control of play. Likewise in the war against Breast Cancer, the Side-Out Foundation will support health care professionals in their pursuit of practical solutions for women and men with this dreaded disease thus enabling those affected to regain control of their lives and living them to the fullest.
