Marilyn Eileen Phillips, 78, of White City died Oct. 19, 2009, at her home. She was a beloved foster grandparent at Little Butte Elementary and at White City Elementary where she was known as “Grandma Marilyn.”
She was born Jan. 8, 1931 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
In addition to being a foster grandparent, she loved to quilt, was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, opera and was a history buff.
She is survived by her sisters, Ila Mae (George) Gruce, Ft. Wayne and Joyce, of Ossian, Indiana; a brother, Stanley, of Arizona; sons, Dave Parnell (Karen), White City, Dennis Parnell (Saundra) of Fairfield, Calif., Steve Parnell (Linda) of Vacaville, Calif.; and a daughter, Vera Silva, of Shady Cove; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A celebration of life was held Oct. 24, at Table Rock Mobile Village in Medford. Memorial donations may be made to Foster Grandparents of Jackson County in her behalf.
