SCMS Wolverines are 2-0

Shady Cove Middle School football team opened their season with a  win over Butte Falls. The players overcame a few first game mistakes with big plays from Bryson Baker, Neff Clark, Brock Wilson and Sherman Hammond to lead the team to victory over a much improved Butte Falls team.  The final score:  Shady Cove 18 Butte Falls 0.

Thanks to  Tyler Hines for setting up the field, Carlos and Melissa Adams for running the chains, Jovan Baker for filming the game and Julie Macedo for handing out rosters.

The Wolverines hosted Sacred Heart on Sept. 30. The Wolverines lead by Neff Clark, Bryson Baker and Brock Wilson defeated the visiting Sacred Heart Knights 42-32. The Wolverines found themselves down by a touchdown early in the first quarter.  The offense went to work with good blocking by the line freeing up Baker to tally up over 150 yards. The defense played well against the run, but was stung by the pass for several first downs and a pair of touchdowns.  In the end the Wolverines were able to pull ahead of the Knights to secure the victory.

The Wolverines travel to St. Mary’s this Wednesday.
