Vball must win both games this week

The Eagles Volleyball team played two conference games last week as they continue towards this year’s playoffs. On Tuesday night, the Eagles traveled to Ashland High School and took on the state’s third ranked 5A team. The young Eagles team could not keep up with the defending conference champions, losing in three straight games, 12-25, 15-25, 12-25. The JV team lost in three games, one game to two, and the freshman team lost two games to none.

On Thursday night the Eagles hosted the Mazama High School Vikings. Eagle Point came out strong and never let up, sweeping the Vikings in three straight games, 25-16, 25-13, 25-19. The Eagles were lead by seniors Kristin Wyatt, who recorded 16 kills and 9 digs and Hannah Mason, who had 7 kills and 4 blocks. Junior Ashley Wilson contributed 5 serving aces during the game. The JV and freshman teams added to the night by both sweeping their matches, two games to none.

With the split in games last week, the Eagles are in need of winning the remainder of their games to qualify for this year’s playoffs. Eagle Point will host the Crater Comets on Tuesday, October 27th and the Eagles will travel to play Klamath Union High School on Thursday, October 29th.

Tuesday night’s match with Crater High School will be in support of the DiG PiNK program and National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. Tee shirts are on sale at the game for $10 with both the Eagles and Comets fully supporting this event. Come out and support the Eagles in this very important game and support the DiG PiNK cause. JV and freshman teams begin at 5:45pm with the varsity showdown starting at 7pm.
