The Friends of the Eagle Point Branch Library will host various holiday events in December at the Eagle Point Branch Library, 239 West Main Street.
Saturday, Dec. 5, from 2-3 p.m., ring in the holidays with the community at the library.
Joining in with the day long Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration being held at the Butte Creek Mill, The Eagle Point Friends of the Library will host the Rogue Valley handbell ensemble, Tintinnabulation. This ensemble will present a 45 minute concert of beautiful Christmas music.
A trolley car will be making the loop between the mill and the library, with free rides for anyone that wants to hop between the two events.
The concert is free, with refreshments provided by the Eagle Point Friends of the Library.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, from 2-6 p.m., the Eagle Point Friends of the Library will host an open house with refreshments, good cheer and an opportunity to shop for gift items from the Upper Rogue Region. A gallery of gifts will be open for your shopping pleasure in the community room. Profits from the sale will go to library programs sponsored by Eagle Point Friends of the Library.
The display cases will be filled with antique trains on loan from members of the Southern Oregon Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society along with a special collection of nutcrackers collected by the Boren family of Eagle Point.
All through the month of December, patrons are invited to stop by and learn to make an origami ornament to hang on the library Christmas tree. This is also a chance to hear about the story of Sadako and the thousand paper cranes.
