Norma J. Horton, 73, of Prospect returned to heaven Nov. 16 2009. Memories of her long life fill the void left in the hearts of her loved ones.
She married Bradford Horton at Hamilton Air Force Base on Jan. 14, 1954. Norma and Brad were married 56 years. Norma had several successful careers; her longest and favorite as an editor, proofreader, and typesetter. Words were her way.
Fiercely loyal and passionate about her family, she was steady; solid as a rock. Her strength and presence were always there to help us throughout any hardships we had to walk through. She touched many hearts and was loved by all. Her husband, children and grandchildren mourn her loss.
Norma loved fishing and camping, bringing her children and grandchildren with her. She shared her interests with her loved ones, and taught them to appreciate life and the great outdoors. Norma believed in giving back and spent many hours volunteering at the Prospect School and was a proud member of the Prospect Lionesses.
In the wake of her passing she is remembered for her wisdom, strength, sparkling blue eyes and her laughter. Our lives will be a little too quiet due to her unexpected passing.
Preceded in death by her parents and several siblings; she is survived by her husband Bradford of Prospect, Oregon. Her children: Kathie of San Diego, California and Michael of Dalton Gardens, Idaho. Her grandchildren: Jason, Sarah, Tanner, Tiegan and Cooper Horton. Her sister Frances, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prospect School Library or the Prospect Liononess’s club in her name. A Memorial Service was held Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard located in Prospect.. Vicar Jack Brown presided.
