The Material Girls, known for their good works as well as beautiful quilts, presented the Upper Rogue Community Center Pantry with a check for $1,298.28. Each year the quilters give a worthy organization half of the proceeds from an “opportunity” quilt and half from the door receipts garnered at their annual quilt show.
The group also had a recent food drive and gave the pantry about three barrels of food, said Pantry Manager Ginny Rigel. Rigel expressed her appreciation for the donations. The number of pantry clients has escalated during this tough economy and donations help meet the needs of the community.
