Ronald Lewis Tooker passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the age of 71 at his home in Eagle Point.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Kenneth and Amy Lou (Johnson) Tooker. He served in the U.S. Air Force and obtained the rank of Airman 1st. Class. He met Frances Kay Hovey of DeWitt, Iowa in 1959 and they were married Oct. 14, 1961. He went to work for Smart & Final, a wholesale grocery company, where he was employed for 34 years retiring as a District Manager. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed time spent on the Rogue River and the coast of Oregon fishing for salmon with his friends. Mr. Tooker loved to travel and had visited all 50 of the United States as well as Canada and Mexico with his family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Kay Tooker of Eagle Point; daughter Luanne Garcia (Gilbert) of Santa Maria, CA; Ronald Tooker Jr. (Donna) of San Diego, CA; Michael Tooker (Roxanna) of Sacramento, CA; and Andrea Comyford (JP) of Grants Pass; and 5 grand-children: Michael Jr. and Matthew Tooker; KC, Joey, and Emily Comyford.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Shady Cove, on Thursday, January 21. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.
