In response to reports of alleged sales of medical marijuana occurring at a residence in the 1400 block of Mill Creek Drive in Prospect, detectives assigned to the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team (MADGE) served a drug search warrant at that location. Detectives were assisted by patrol deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
On Feb. 11 at about 3 p.m., investigators assigned to MADGE served a drug search warrant at the home of an OMMP card holder in the 1400 block of Mill Creek Drive in Prospect. MADGE investigators had been investigating the resident, Ronald Wayne Williams, 59, after receiving information that he was allegedly selling medical marijuana to non card holder(s). MADGE personnel made several controlled buys of marijuana from the residence which resulted in the issuance of a search warrant. At the time of the warrant, Williams was not home but detectives have subsequently made contact with him by telephone.
Detectives and deputies seized about 52 pounds of marijuana at the residence.
Charges of manufacturing, distributing and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, against Williams will be referred to the Jackson County District Attorney’s office. It is anticipated that charges will be filed within the month.
