Jose was born Jan. 13, 1974, in Nuremburg, Germany, to Coni and Jose Cacho. He was raised as a military child with many fond memories of living in Germany, Kentucky, Colorado, Texas and Washington. Together with his family, he settled in Eagle Point as a teenager. He graduated from Eagle Point in 1992. It was there where he met and fell in love with his wife Kimberly (Steel). They were married Apr. 13, 1996, in Medford.
After high school, Jose joined the US Marines. An unfortunate training accident ended his military career, but there was no taking the Marine out of him.
He and his wife moved to the Rogue Valley. Jose went back to college to pursue a degree in construction management. After college, he went to work for Scott Wells Construction, and had the opportunity to build the home of his dreams for his wife. He was so proud of what he had created with his hands and would happily share it with everyone he met. He loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours doing outdoor activities, but he was happiest spending time with Kimberly.
Jose realized his dream of being a father eight months ago when he and Kimberly adopted their handsome son, Jose Lorenzo Cacho III (Joey). He was a devoted father.
Jose’s humor and kindness will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife, Kimberly and son, Joey; he is survived by his parents, Jose and Coni; brother Javier (Stephanie).
A celebration of life was held Apr. 3 at Mountain Christian Fellowship. The family is asking for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
