Lola S. Goodhue McDonald

Lola Barbara Saunders Goodhue McDonald, 90, of Eagle Point, died Mar. 31, 2010, in Ashland.

She was the youngest of six children, born Sept. 19, 1919, in Prineville, Ore. Her first husband, Bill Goodhue, was a bush pilot in Alaska for several years. This experience helped her develop her courage and toughness which bode her well in later years. She later married Vernon McDonald, who preceded her in death. She traveled with him extensively settling in Eagle Point in 1972, where she spent her remaining years.

She awakened creativity in many through her teaching beginners the fulfillment of painting.  She loved her family ; the color purple, flowers, and collecting costume jewelry.

She is survived by sons, Steven, Dennis and Curtis; and daughter, Nancy Wells; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dee.

A celebration of her life was held April 5 at Butte Creek Baptist Church. Donations may be made to Music of Heart & Hope
