Prospect board names two new math teachers

The Prospect School Board of Directors voted to give their confidential employees the same raise given teachers and classified, which is 5.5 percent. (For teachers, this also includes the 3 percent Step raise).

The same class position as last year were approved with a half-time person to be added if the pre-school program extends to full day. There is a waiting list for the program and it will extend if there is sufficient money in the budget.
Elizabeth Bilden, of Eagle Point, has been hired as a high school math teacher and Charlotte Dorsch of Butte Falls will be the new middle school math teacher. Both are graduates of Southern Oregon University.

Three students want to attend the SOU Academy. The school board agreed to have the district pay for some portion of the tuition. And the board very much wants to support the Veterans Festival by allowing use of the school.

The senior trip to San Francisco May 21-22-23 was approved. Sites will include the Warf and Alcatraz.

The superintendent’s evaluation included a request to have Supt. Don Alexander maintain established hours, as an example be in the school all day on Wednesdays.
