Camp White history at EP Library May 20

The Friends of the Eagle Point Branch Library will host Thursday at the Library at the Eagle Point Branch Library, 239 West Main Street on Thursday, May 20, 4-5:30 p.m., in the Community Room.

In honor of the Memorial Day Observation, there will be a program on the history of Camp White presented by Dan Kelly, Strategic Manager at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics, also known as the Domiciliary!  Mr. Kelly will use a power point presentation to discuss how a WWII era complex that was started as a 77 square mile Army Training Center in 1941 has been transformed into a rehab medical facility for Armed Forces personnel.

There will also be a showing of the SOP-TV documentary, Camp White Story: Southern Oregon Goes to War.

For the month of May, the display case in the Eagle Point Library will hold WWII artifacts on loan from the White City Military Museum, the Eagle Point Historical Society Museum and from personal collections.
