The track coaching staff decided to give some of the younger team members the opportunity to compete within their age group and the athletes responded with some outstanding performances. With 30 teams competing our frosh-soph placed seventh.
Sophomore Tyrone Holmes displayed his athletic versatility by placing 2nd Shot(44’3.75”PR), 2nd in the 110HH and 5th in the Discus. Sophomore Garrett Snow placed 2nd in the Javelin(173’PR). Another sophomore, Zach Reed, placed 7th in the HJ and 6th in the TJ. Freshman, Sergio Bencomo,
had the highest finish for a freshman in the 3000M a 3rd place personal best of 9:37.0. Freshman javelin thrower, Hannah Morris, took 2nd place(105’7”PR).
Senior hurdlers both had personal bests at GP. Jenise Lewis was 6th in the 100H(16.30PR) and Josh Wilson 6th in the 300H(41.84PR).
The dual meet season ended at Ashland HS with a meet on May 11th. May 14 Eagle Point hosted the joint Skyline/Southern Sky JV District Meet.by Mike Johnston
