Girls relay 1st in So. Sky & boys bested their time

The Eagles Track traveled to Klamath Falls on Saturday May 1 to compete in the Sterling Invitational Track and Field Meet. The meet was held on the campus of OIT.  The OIT track will be the host site for the final Southern Sky Conference District Meet later this month.  Thirty high schools from as far away as Reno and Redding attended.

The Eagle girls 4×100 Relay started the day off with a season best time of 51.54 seconds.  That race moved the team of Lindsay Marsh, Jazmin Arnspiger, Hannah Morris, and Cassie Boykin into first place in the conference at the top ten in 5A for the state.

In the meet’s final event, the boys 4×400 Relay dropped their time by a whopping 11 seconds.  Austin Marlia, Jacob Shaffer, Andrew Blanchard and Josh Wilson produced a 3:36.0 effort.  That performance should put them in the thick of things for a trip to the state meet.

The Eagles traveled to Grants Pass this May 8.  Tuesday, May 11,  the team travels to Ashland for the season’s final conference dual meet.
