Virginia Kent Sasser, of Eagle Point, died April 19, 2010.
She was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Frederick, Okla. to William Russell Kent and Bernice Gertrude Hammond Kent. She attended Henderson #3 Grade School, south of Frederick and Mineral Wells, Texas schools, where she was honored as one of three students to receive a scholarship her sophomore and junior years. She graduated in 1949, from Frederick High School, in Frederick, Okla. Virginia attended Durham’s Business College, in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by employment at Montgomery Ward.
She married Eldon Lloyd Sasser, June 16, 1951, in Frederick. She loved her life as an Air Force officer’s wife, living in 14 homes around the globe. Her hobbies were cooking and sewing, including teaching sewing to Aborigines in Australia. She enjoyed dancing and she and Eldon won the Arthur Murray waltz contest for Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon; son, Del Alan Sasser; daughter, Karen Marie Sasser and sister, Mary Frances Miller. Preceding her in death are brothers, Charlie Ivan, William Byron and Joe Russell Kent.
