Winning art is now on a state-wide tour

Watercolor Paintings from six southern Oregon artists were juried into the 45th Aqueous Media Exhibition in Brookings. The artists were Betty Barss, Medford; Sue Bennett, Jacksonville; Janet Bocast, Medford; Goly Ostovar, Ashland; Sylvia Miller, Grants Pass; and Charlotte Peterson, Central Point. The internationally known juror was Stephen Quiller, AWS & NWS, from Creed, CO.

Watercolor Society of Oregon members entered 380 images of paintings of which Mr. Quiller selected 80 for the Brookings show. Of those 80, 20 paintings were given awards and will tour the state for six months. Charlotte Peterson’s “Ravin’ Beach Beauties” was given an Achievement Award. The 80 paintings were at the Manley Art Center and Gallery in Brookings through April. Award winners will travel to Port Orford Library for May and June; July and until August 21 they will be exhibited at the Black Market Gourmet Restaurant and Gallery, Coos Bay; August 23 to September 30 they can be seen at the Umpqua Valley Arts Association in Roseburg.
