Charles Leslie McLauchlan Sr., 61, died June 14, 2010 at Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass after a long and brave battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 25, 1949, in San Diego, Calif., to Charles and Frieda McLauchlan. He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1967, with plans to develop a cattle ranch. He later moved to Butte Falls, where he raised his family.
He was a passionate person with a love of the outdoors, vintage cars and tractors. He had a gift for talking and a love of meeting new people. “I never knew a strange” was not just a cliche, but a way of life for Charlie. He was immensely proud of his children and considered them his life’s legacy.
Survivors include his devoted soul mate, Sue Corrie; daughters, Heidi (Travis) Daniels, Elizabeth (Derek) Lutz and Kimberly (Brian) Price; sons, Charlie Jr., Michael and Andrew McLauchlan and two grandchildren (including one that was due June 21.)
Graveside services will be held at Sparlan Cemetery on Water Gap Rd., in Williams Saturday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life.
