Realtors® golf tourney benefits injured veteran

Rogue Valley Association of Realtors® 16th annual golf tournament was dedicated to assisting U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Tom Rollason. He was injured from a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan .

Tom and his wife, Sandee, received much needed help throujgh the Realtors® housing project.

On Sept. 20, 2009, Sgt. Rollason’s unit was on a mission in te Helmand Province when his truck was hit with a command wire IED. It exploded beneath the truck. The driver was killed and three soldiers, including Rollason, were seriously injured. Originally he was not expected to live.

Less than three months ago, Rollason took his first steps and can now walk short distances. He tires easily and his heart functions at about 60 percent.
