The 12th annual Shady Cove Open Golf Tournament is Saturday, Aug. 21at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
This year, after fulfilling the number one goal of providing coats and shoes to kids, most of the remaining proceeds will be divided between the Shady Cove and White City Boys & Girls Clubs..

The tournament has gained fame for its million dollar hole-in-one contest. There is a $10,000 putting contest, prizes for closest to the pin on holes No. 8 and 13, a hole-in-one at hole No. 15 will see someone win a  $6,000 Willie’s Drift Boat, and a hole in-one at hole No.3 that gives the lucky winner a 2010 Ford pick-up truck from Crater Lake Ford. There are also many cash prizes.

There is a no-host  Happy Hour, a banquet, raffle and auction. For those who are not golfers, tickets for the banquet and auction are $25 each.

Over the years, the Upper Rogue Action Team through the Shady Cove Open has done much for the community such as completing playground equipment needs for Shady Cove School, contributing to reading programs in Eagle Point and Shady Cove, distributing money to many needy families during Christmas, sending over 400 kids to summer camp and helping a kidney transplant patient with some expenses.
