She was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Waterloo, Iowa. On Aug. 24, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisc., she married LeRoy W. DeHays.
She worked as a cook. Betty, as she was known to her family, moved to the Rogue Valley in 2004 from Milwaukee to live with her daughter and son-in-law. In 2007, Betty moved into adult foster care where she resided until her death. Betty loved to sing and dance. She attended Adult Day Care at Providence and later at Trinity Respite in Ashland. She loved going and was known as a greeter and would serve the folks coffee. Betty loved life and lived to laugh. She loved the Lord Jesus and was very active in her church back in Wisconsin.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting aand word search books.
Betty is survived by four children : David (Kari) DeHays of st. Francis, Wis., Michael (Mary) DeHays of Milwaukee, Wis., Linda (Tom) Ricciardi of Eagle Point, Lee DeHays of Allenton, Wis; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy W. DeHays and a brother, Erwin Fahrnow.
The memorial service for Betty was held at 11 a.m. Aug 20, 2010 at Perl Funeral Home with Daryl Wiltrout, Trail Christian Fellowship, officiating.
