The Eagles had their first victory in the new “hybrid” league with a victory over Churchill of Eugene Friday night. Both teams are part of the new Midwestern League this year.
The cause for celebration was a decisive 39-21 victory over The Churchill Lancers.
Eagle Point had the first two touchdowns followed in the second quarter by two Tds from The Lancers.
At the end of the third quarter mark, Churchill was up by one point. But the Eagles were n ot about to travel to and from Eugene without making it a worthwhile trip as evidenced in the fourth quarter when the Eagles scored 19 points.
The fourth quarter scoring frenzy was lead by quarterback Shane Bluhm. That was followed with an interception by Mario Rivera.
Eagle Point hits the road again this week as they meet Willamette, which lost to Springfield Friday night 34-44.
