Kristopher Lewis Butler

Kristopher Lewis Butler, 21, of Eagle Pont, died Aug. 29, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in a single automobile accident in Klamath County.

Kristopher was born on October 7, 1988, in West Germany to military parents, Gloria and Arthur Butler. He attended Eagle Point schools and graduated from Eagle Point High School in 2007.  He participated in a number of athletic activities including football, basketball and track. He currently was a three-year member of the Southern Oregon Renegades, a semi-professional football team after having served a one-year stint with another semi-professional team, the Klamath Falls Crusaders. Kristopher’s ambitions included competing his education and becoming a physical therapist specializing in sport injury.

Affectionately called “Boobie Miles” or “Skittlez,” Kristopher was passionate about family and friends as well as his love of sports. His warm, bright smile was known to light up a room. His care and concern for others was evident by the number of lives he touched during his short life.

Kristopher is survived by his parents, Gloria and Arthur, of Eagle Point; sisters, DeJuane and Keosha Butler, Bethany and Kristen; fiancé, Karisse Mendez; grandmothers, Fran Marsing “Gramie,” and Lucille Mungin; several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, A. LeRoy Cox and Glad Marsing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Eagle Point High School football stadium at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Perl Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Cody Marsing, Jason Marsing, Trevor Bullard, Christopher J. Butler, Troy Pickett, Daniel Varner, James Dotson and Alvin Thornton.

A memorial fund has been established in Kristopher’s honor at Rogue Federal Credit Union. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Kristopher “Skittlez”Memorial Fund in support of area educational scholarships.
