Prospect volleyball results

Prospect traveled to Powers for their season-opening volleyball victory. Sophomore middle/setter Heather Lass had 15 kills, 4 blocks, 19 assists and was 14-of-15 from the service line.  Freshman middle Taylor Bernhardt had 8 kills and one block and Kristalyn Mahoney added 7 kills. Lindsey Baker went 26-of-28 from the service line and had 8 aces. Kristen Reynolds added 18 assists. Scores: 16-25, 28-26, 25-18, 27-25.

Prospect picked up another win at home on Sept. 7 against Milo Academy. Jessica VanWormer went 15-of-18 from the service line with 10 aces.  Lass went 17-of-18 with 3 aces from the service line.  Lass also added 10 kills, 13 assists and 7 digs.  Bernhardt was perfect atthe service line with 15-of-15 and 5 aces. Bernhardt also added 6 kills. Shelbie Zelnar had 7 kills and libero Chloe Zelnar had 8 digs. Scores:  25-13, 23-25, 25-10, 25-22.

Prospect traveled to North Lake on Sept. 10 and lost in 5. Prospect served strong and had good net play but struggled with their passing.  Lass led at the service line going 23-of-23 with 4 aces, Caree Mickelson and Bernhardt were also perfect at the service line with Mickelson going 16-of-16 with 1 ace and Bernhardt going 14-of-14 with 1 ace. Freshman Alee Pinkerton went 18-of-20 with 3 aces.  Lass had a team high 13 blocks and added 7 kills and 18 assists.  Mahoney led the team in kills with 11,  Bernhardt added 8 kills and 6 blocks and  Mickelson had 5 kills and 4 blocks.  Reynolds added 11 assists and Shelbie Zelnar contributed 3 kills.  VanWormer had 5 aces, 2 kills and 1 block.   Scores: 23-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 10-15.

The Lady Cougars travel to Milo on Tuesday.
