Eagles defeat Springfield, 31-24

Coach Schauffler was happy with the final score against Springfield Friday night; very proud of the job done by Aaron Foster; but not so pleased with the first half of the game.

The game was tied 7-7 at half-time. Schauffler said if they had not had three end zone turnovers in the first half, they would have walked away with the game, based on the second half performance.

Foster had a huge night. Rushing yards-100, receiving yardage- 126 and he had an 82 yard kick-off return for a touchdown. He had more than 300 yards in offense.

Quarterback Shane Bluhm joined those having a good night with 126 yards rushing.

Devon Adams had 137 yards receiving and one 59 yard TD.

Tyler McFall had an interception in the end zone late in the game that sealed it defensively, said Schauffler.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad night with 583 yards total offense,” said the coach.The game picked up for the Eagles about half-way through the third quarter when Foster had the 82-yard kick-off, putting the Eagles ahead 24-10.

McFall’s interception came with five minutes remaining and with Springfield hoping to tie the game.

The final score was 31-24, in favor of the Eagles.

They travel to Eugene this Friday to face North Eugene.
