He was born Nov. 16, 1934 and was raised on a farm with a big family in Piedmont, Mo. He came west with his uncles, Robert and Eugene Warrick, in the early 1950s to make his mark in this world.
He worked in the lumber industry at various jobs until retiring from Boise Cascade in the early 1990s.
A resident of the Rogue Valley for the majority of his life, Joe enjoyed life as a CB’er and amateur radio operator. He raced go-carts and enjoyed outdoor activities. He was a man with a good heart and made friends quickly and was always ready to lend a hand when asked.
His last years were complicated by the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and failing health The past few months were spent at Eagle Cove in Eagle Point.
He is survived by Beverly, his loving wife of 54 years; sons Robert (Julie), of Anchorage, Alaska, Donald, of Cottage Grove, Michael (Tina) of Central Point and Darren (Luisa) of Medford, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is at the Red Lion Conference Room Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 12:30 p.m. The family asks that donations be sent in lieu of flowers to Darren Waites, 342 Mae St., Medford, OR 97501. Arrangements by Conger-Morris, Central Point.
