Pumpkin carving contest open to all ages

Pumpkins will be available at Butte Creek Mill starting Friday, Oct.15 for the carving contest sponsored by Eagle Point/Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce, along with PremierWest Bank, Eagle Point Branch, and Butte Creek Mill.

You do not have to pick up a pumpkin at the Mill, you can carve your own pumpkin and still enter the contest. The contest will have youth as well as adult divisions. They will be judged at the Mill on Oct. 23. There will be several prizes.

Age groups are: 0-8, 8-17 and 18 and over.

There will be four awards in each age group as follows: People’s Choice, The Scariest, The Happiest and Most Original.

Judging will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at Butte Creek Mill. Winners need not be present, but certainly are encouraged to be. Winners will be announced by email, posted at the mill and on the Upper Rogue Website and in the Upper Rogue Independent.
