SC football falls to Knights at U.S. Cellular

The Wolverines ended their season on Oct. 20 against the Sacred Heart Knights. The game was played under the lights at US Cellular Fields in Medford.

The Wolverine defense held the Knights to one offensive touchdown in the first half. Mikey Johnson, Jared Dabel, Jacob Dovel, Victor Ruiz-Erickson, Garrett Webb, Dylan Perrin, Noah Sitzer and Michael Macedo put together a defense that proved to challenge the Knights.  Even with the Knights receivers that had a height advantage of nearly 12 inches the Wolverine defenders defeated the passing attach nearly all night.

The Wolverine offense spent very little time on the field and were held to only two scores.  Michael Macedo ran a touchdown in on the sweep with the help of Jared Dabel’s lead blocking. Jared scored on the PAT running the ball in to the end zone behind a great Wolverine line surge.  Late in the game Victor took the reins at quarter back and made some great moves on the side line keeping his balance after being spun completely around by a Knight facemasking penalty.  Michael Macedo added in the play with the final block down the field that cleared Victor’s way to the end zone. In the end the Wolverines fell to the Knights 26-16.

Coaches Macedo and Sweem would like to thank all the parents whose positive support encouraged the players and the coaches throughout the season. The coaches are very proud of their young Wolverine team.  A celebration of the season will be held on Oct. 29 starting at 3:30 and ending with awards at 6 p.m. in the Shady Cove Middle School gym.
