Readers will have two special opportunities to hear from candidates wanting to make decisions for Eagle Point and for the county in forums Oct. 11 and 18.
The first forum, Oct. 11, will be for the candidates running for mayor and city council in Eagle Point. There are two running for the position of mayor-Bob Russell and Rick Tree.
Three city council seats are up for election and there are four candidates. Those seeking the three seats are: Jonathan Bilden, Ruth Jenks, Kathy Sell and Leon Sherman.
Both candidate forums are sponsored by the Eagle Point/Upper Rogue Chamber of Commerce and will be held at 7 p.m. at the Ashpole Center at city hall. And at each forum candidates will be asked questions to hopefully give voters some insight into what they can expect from those elected.
The four candidates for the two seats open for county commissioner will be in Eagle Point on Oct. 18. They are: Jeff Golden (Dem) and John Rachor (Rep) and Don Skundrick (Rep) and Mark Wisnosky (Dem.)
At each forum there will be cards available upon which the audience may write a question of interest to them. These will be read by the moderator. The questions could be just for one candidate or for each to answer.
Refreshments will be served, offering more opportunity to talk to the candidates.
