Santa will be in Eagle Point this Friday, Dec. 3, to visit all the good little boys and girls.
But first though retired Eagle Point Police Chief John Meeker has one more official duty to perform and that is to slip the switch to light the community Christmas Tree. That takes place at Bob Moore Park, on Main St. Downtown at 7 p.m. There will be the reading to names of those to be remembered at this special time. That is part of the Memory Lights project wherein donations are made for the continual replacement of lights for the Christmas tree in the name of a person or group.
Lions Club will be on hand for refreshments. There will be community singing and then the moment all little ones wait for, the arrival of Santa. He will lead the group to the Ashpole Center at city hall where he will hear their wants and allow each child to select a stuffed animal, all free of charge.
This is one of several major Eagle Point Community Association projects.
If you’ve been meaning to donate to the Memory Lights but it just slipped your mind, give Bunny Lincoln a call at 541-944-2446.
