Turnovers played role in Eagle loss

Although the Eagles did not advanced beyond a playoff with Marist, Coach Schauffler saw some real positives in the game. The Eagles were up against the 2nd place team in the state, but the game was actually closer than the final 50-6 score, said Schauffler. The Eagles had two drives; one to the one yard line, which resulted in a fumble and the other was a reception inside our own 10 yard line. It was a physical game.

Once again, Shane Bluhm had a great game with 161 yards rushing . He had the touchdown, which was an 80-yarder.

Eagle Point had 334 yards total offense.

“We beat ourselves with turnovers,” said the coach.

Schauffler said he has a great core of juniors that will be coming back for next year’s seasons.  He also noted the success of the freshman and anticipates continued growth from that group. Schauffler sees a program that is continuing to grow.“I think we will be successful,” said Schauffler.
