Jackson County Sheriff’s Office White City Community Action Team conducted a parole and probation sweep of White City on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 5 p.m. to midnight. The group worked with members of the Parole and Probation Office and Medford Police Department.
Seventeen home visits were made, and two additional parolees, who were not on the list, were contacted. The sweep was used to determine if probationers were in or out of compliance. Those out of compliance were either arrested or will have a warrant issued.
This was the first sweep of its kind for the sheriff’s office and more sweeps will be planned. In addition to several arrests, deputies also recovered a stolen rifle. Additionally, a short foot pursuit occurred after a wanted subject spied the sheriff’s deputies coming to the residence. The suspect was taken into custody after being located in the attic of his mother’s home.
Those arrested on probation violation detainer:
Omar Quinone, 26, Robert Herring, 26, Jim Eaton, 51, Lyle Costelow, 56, Dennis Keehn, 40, probation violation detainer, intoxication, uncooperative; Michael Cheek, 24 probation violation detainer and intoxication;
Eduardo Quinonez, 20, possession of stolen firearm, cited, not arrested.
The Community Action Team includes a sergeant and six deputies, who patrol the White City area.
