EPHS baseball staff is selected

Eagle Point High School’s new Head Baseball Coach Mike Newmann recently  announced his staff for the up and coming 2011 baseball season. Assisting Coach Newmann on the Varsity team will be none other than the fiery EPHS alumnus Jimmy Meerten.  Heading up the Junior Varsity will be former Crater baseball standout and two year starter at the College of the Siskiyous Will Hammon. Assisting Coach Hammon on the field will be EPHS alumnus Scott Stockton.  Coach Stockton is the son of Dennis Stockton who played on the EPHS State Baseball Championship Team of 1978.

The freshman team will be headed up by EPHS alumnus Shawn Grady. He will be assisted by former EPHS Baseball standout Coach Ryan Garrett. He started for three years at the Oregon Institute of Technology and was a First Team All Region recipient his junior year. Also acting as a “floating” coach thus helping at all levels will be EPHS multi-sport standout Coach Tyson Nelson. Coach Nelson was an All Region and All Tournament Team recipient in his second year at Mt. Hood Community College and finished his baseball career at Western University.
