EPHS varsity boys basketball

The Eagle Point Varsity Boy’s Basketball team opened their 2010-11 campaign at home on Dec. 3 and 4 hosting Bend and Mt. View High Schools.  The Eagles were defeated by Bend in a very close game by the score of 76-74. Logan Winter led the Eagle Point attack with 26 points.  Jonathan Bolston added 19 points and Tyrone Holmes chipped in 18.  The fighting Eagles lost another heartbreaker on Saturday to Mt. View by the score of 69-67.  Jonathan Bolston had a game high 27 points.

The Eagles traveled to Wilsonville High School to play in the Wilsonville Invitational Tournament Dec. 10-12.  The Eagles picked up their first win of the season against The Dalles-Wahtonka by the score of 64 to 52.  Logan Winter led the Eagles with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Tyrone Holmes also added 16 points and 10 rebounds.  The Eagles lost another heartbreaker to Cleveland High School in overtime in the semifinals of the tournament by the score of 76-72.  Four Eagles were in double figures in scoring led by Logan Winter’s 28 points.  Zach Reed had a season high of 14 points with Jonathan Bolstonn adding 12 and Tyrone Holmes contributing 11.  The Eagles completed the tournament losing a hard fought battle to Silverton in the 3rd place game.

The Eagles traveled to Klamath Falls on Dec. 14 defeating Klamath Union by the score of 66 to 45.  Logan Winter and Tyrone Holmes combined for 46 points and 26 rebounds, while Jonathan Bolston did an outstanding job defensively holding KU’s leading scorer Braxton Miles to just 7 points.
