The Eagle Point Middle School 7th and 8th grade varsity boys basketball teams hosted the Lincoln Savage Tigers on Monday, Nov. 29. The 7th graders led off with a 39-32 victory to run their record to 3-2 on the season. The Panthers were led by Brenden Brown with 22 pints and Tate Cowden with 11. Other Panthers that hit the scoring column were Kevin Van Dyke, John Kimes and Ryan Ross with two points each.
The 8th graders showed a little bit of rust from the Thanksgiving holiday suffering the first loss of the season to the Talented Tigers, 45-61.
David Barber checked in with a season high 21 points, but was the only Panther that found the hoop consistently as a poor shooting night sealed the Panthers fate.
Every player scored at least one point. Neff Clark and Jacob Shelton led the battle of the boards with Clark grabbing 9 and Shelton 8. Barber picked up 4 assists and 3 steals to round out his evening.
