Rogue River Lodge will offer a series of eight professional cooking classes beginning in January and focusing on scratch cooking without processed foods. Sue Cary, an experienced culinary professional who has established six cooking schools, will teach the classes, which take place Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. The classes are set in the Lodge’s main dining room with a wide viewing area and a backdrop of the Rogue River outside.
“It’s about making great food from scratch. No packaged, pre-made meals and no processed ingredients. These classes will prepare you to make some advanced dishes and you’ll know exactly what’s in them,” said Cary, who has taught at numerous schools and gourmet retail shops. She brings an impressive culinary background with a career spanning over 35 years with most of that experience in the Texas area. She has taught at many special events nationwide and was once featured on AM California with Jeannie Johnson.
Classes will be limited to 30 students to ensure optimal visual presentation and participation. Cost is $30 per class and can also be purchased as a holiday gift. Call (541) 878-2555 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register, or visit the Lodge at 24904 Highway 62 in Trail. Classes will be themed each month, beginning with Mardi Gras cuisine in January and followed by Chinese New Year in February, Appetizers in March, Vegetarian in April, Summer Cooking, Picnic & BBQ in May, Gluten Free & Diabetic in September, Oktoberfest/Beer Pairings in October, Thanksgiving Alternatives in November, and Holiday Specialties in December.
