On November 19, 2010 at approximately 5:30 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a report of kidnapping and assault. According to detectives, two 17 year old males were walking in the area of Meridian Road, in Eagle Point between 3:00am and 4:00am on November 19. The two juveniles had approached a property in the 2000 block of Meridian Road when a shotgun was fired. Both juveniles ran, but one of them was captured. The captured juvenile was taken into the residence, which is a registered medical marijuana grow site, where his hands and feet were bound with packaging tape and rope. He was eventually moved to a wheelchair where he was strapped down. The suspect moved the 17 year old into a bathroom and covered him with a blanket where he was left for several hours.
Eventually a second suspect arrived at the home and began to question and beat the juvenile, using a wooden stick, causing physical injury to his head and body. At some point during the juvenile’s capture he was taken out to the backyard and was asked to dig a hole in the ground. The suspects stole the juvenile’s shoes and made him walk back to his friend’s home about four or five miles down the road.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nicholas R. Jackson, 33, of Medford andKekai K. Kuehu, 30, of Ashland, on charges of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault.
