Art & music to showcase Stravinsky’s “Firebird”

Art and Soul Gallery and the Rogue Valley symphony are working on a grand show centered around Igor Stravinsky’s “The Firebird”. 

About 15 artists have painted images inspired by the Firebird symphony.  The gallery  will hang this show Jan. 3 for the Jan First Friday which is Jan. 7 , 5-8 p.m. The Firebird show will hang for the month of January and on into February until the symphony’s production which is Feb 25-26-27.  The paintings will be on display at the performances in Ashland, Medford and Grants Pass.  The paintings will be for sale but if sold before the symphony week end they will remain on exhibit until after the last concert. 

Artists participating in this project include realists and abstract artists; Betty Barss, Sue Bennett, Judy Bjorlie,  Janet Bocast, Linda Boutacoff, Kim Faucher, Dodie Hamilton-Brandon, Mae Heideman, Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass, Marilyn Hurst, Janie Hutchinson, Judi Johnston, Beth Martin, Wyn Pederson, Charlotte Peterson, Judy Richardson, Judy Sands, and Eve Margo Withrow.  Work in multi-media, collage, oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylics will be featured. Music by Douglas Ross, dulcimer
