SC girls were 3-1 lat week, 3 games this week

Last week the Lady Wolverines met their toughest opponent on Monday, ending the week with a 3-1 record for both JV and Varsity.  In the JV matchup, Kirsten Pariani scored 14 of the 27 points for the Wolverines, with Dana Johnson, Becca Ash, and Socha Smith scoring the remainder, for a final score of 27-18. On varsity, Sacred Heart’s Rose and Lindsey were unstoppable, piling up the points against the less experienced Shady Cove team. Kiana Sweem had several shots blocked by taller Sacred Heart players, but still managed to put up 8 points with her outside shots.  Posts Dana Johnson and Brenna Blankenship scored the only other points of the night for the Wolverines, with a final score of 18-55.

Wednesday the Wolverines hosted the Butte Falls Loggers. Once again, Kiana, Dana, and Brenna were the only scorers for the Wolverine varsity. At the half, the Wolverines had an 8 point lead.  But in the final minutes, Shawna from Butte Falls scored 3 baskets, including a 3 pointer, tightening the lead to 3. The Wolverines hung on to their lead and defeated the Loggers 18-15.

The JV victory over the Loggers was widespread, with most of the Lady Wolverines scoring baskets. Kirsten Pariani was again the lead scorer, with 10 points. Jenica Edwards, Mary Bolinger, Becca Ash, Socha Smith, and Kristin Sweem all scored points, as well, with a final score of 23-10.

This week Shady Cove will host Grace Christian Monday, Prospect JV Wednesday, and Ruch on Thursday. Come out and support your Lady Wolverines.
