In preparation for the upcoming boating season, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol is holding its annual “Dry Dock” inspections at the Search and Rescue building, located at 620 Antelope Road, in White City. Inspections will take place Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Boaters in Jackson County will have an opportunity to have their boats inspected prior to the start of the season. Owners are encouraged to have current registration, all of their safety gear, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, etc in place at the time of the inspection. This year’s safety inspection decal is green and upon successful completion of the inspection, it will be affixed to the rear of the boat.
In addition to the Sheriff’s Marine Patrol, the United States Coast Guard auxiliary will be present to inspect boats as well. This is especially important for boaters that use coastal waters.
