Arbor Day will be celebrated in Eagle Point on Thursday, April 7. It will not an ordinary Arbor Day event in Eagle Point, it is another of the special Centennial celebrations sponsored by the city. While it officially is the 19th year for an Eagle Point Arbor Day celebration, the city make special note of the occasion this year by holding the event in the new Centennial Plaz, at the corner of Main and Royal Ave.
Events will begin at 10 a.m. with the introduction of elected officials, city staff and special guests by City Administrator Dave Hussell.
Mayor Bob Russell will dedicate the trees in Centennial Plaza to Eagle Point’s 100th birthday. This will be followed by Oregon Department of Forestry representative Matt Krunglevich, who will present awards to the city.
