EPCA needs funds for Centennial fireworks

Keeping with the Centennial year for Eagle Point, the 4th of July committee has voted to name the City of Eagle Point as its Grand Marshal. Although there was no exact listing of those who they hope will accompany the city, it sounds as though they are seeking representatives of the various departments and commissions and also want to see representatives of every organization in town also participating. More clarification will probably be given at the next July 4th meeting on Monday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Ashpole Center. Or, call Bunny Lincoln at 541-944-2446.

The committee is also looking into the possibility of having representatives from their sister city, Showa, Japan as Honorary Grand Marshals.

Also as part of the Centennial celebration, the fireworks committee has increased the size of the display, which means more money is needed to support the event. There will be several displays just because it is the Centennial. Donations can be sent to the Eagle Point Community Assoc. attn Fireworks, P.O. Box 659, Eagle Point, OR 97524 or call Chairperson Rick Tree at 541-826-8889. Help is needed at the fun run and make contacts for donations to the fireworks gala.

This year Parade entry will be by donation. To enter or for parade information, contact Suzi Collins, 541-324-0099. For booth information and reservation the contact is Joni Parsons at 541-826-7151. For general volunteer information, contact Sharon Coupe at 541-830-3131 or 541-944-5142. And for the Fun Run, the contact is Bunny Lincoln, 541-944-2446.
