Jean Pech, 83, of Eagle Point, died Feb. 28, 2011, at her home.
She was born May 18, 1927 in Kansas City, Mo., to Mary and Burton Craven. The family moved to Montana when she was a baby and then to Los Angeles where she grew up. She moved to the Rogue Valley in October 1955.
On Oct. 31, 1971, in Reno, she married Roland Pech.
Jean’s involvement in the community was extensive, with a heavy emphasis on doing good things for children. She volunteered at Little Butte School and at Eagle Point High School, she was one of the first members on the D9 Scholarship Dessert Committee, actively supported the building of Eagle Stadium, and was a member of Eagle Point Lioness. She and Roland were members of Retreads and RV Road Riders and participated in the annual motorcycle toy drive. She was on the July 4th committee when Eagle Point began that annual celebration, had floats in the parade over the years and supported the annual fireworks. Wherever there was a need, Jean was ready to help.
In addition to her husband, Roland, she is survived by four sons: Larry Enyart, Spannaway, Wash., Fred Enyart, Trail, Riley Ferguson, Orting, Wash. and Ralph Pech, Eagle Point; a daughter, Kandace Wattenberg, Eagle Point; step-daughters, Ronda St. George, Eagle Point and Lona Bates, Redding; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers and one sister.
There will be a BBQ this summer where friends and family can share memories. Donations may be made to benefit athletics or the scholarship program in the name of Jean Pech.
Arrangements by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
