Hillside groundbreaking, Apr. 20

{gallery}/04_19_11/school{/gallery} Jackson County School District #9, in partnership with Willamette Education Service District (WESD), extend an invitation to  the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hillside Elementary School Project. On Wednesday, Apr. 20 at 1 p.m. The site is on Main St. Behind Little Butte School.  The ceremony marks the beginning of general construction, and provides an opportunity to celebrate a tremendously successful process.

The successful bid by Kirby Naglehout Construction will allow the school district to build an attractive and useful school at a cost 22% lower than the average price for school construction.  This saves enough money to address replacing the roof on Eagle Point High School and other key Capital Projects.

The event will be hosted by Jackson County School District #9 and Little Butte Elementary School.  Master of Ceremonies will be Mr. Ted Dole, School Board Vice Chairman.
Invited dignitaries include: Eagle Point Mayor Bob Russell, Eagle Point City Administrator Dave Hussell, City Council President Alan Curriston and City Council members Jonathon Bilden,
Bill Fierke, Ruth Jenks, Mike Parker and Kathy Sell.

Also invited to attend: State Senator     Doug Whitsett, State Representative Mike McLane,
County Commissioners CW Smith, John Rachor and Don Skundrick, and Rob Patridge, District Representative for Congressman Greg Walden.

Hillside Elementary School construction is scheduled for completion by March 1, 2012 with move in activities during Spring Break of 2012.
