Elvin “Al” Rogde, 79, of White City, died May 16, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Philip, S.D. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1961. On Aug. 27, 1955, he married JoAnn Rogde. They had been married 54 years when she passed away Nov. 9, 2009.
Mr. Rogde worked for the School District 9, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to Lake Creek for ice cream with his grandchildren. He loved watching reruns of “All in the Family” and “Sanford and Son.”
He is survived by four sons; Leonard (Debbie), White City, Wesley Rogde, Eagle Point, Mike (Amy), Kenai, Alaska and Terry (Julie) of Brookings; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and his extended family, the Boyd’s, the Casade’s and Litasha and Bailey Hinkle.
A private interment will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
