Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Jacksonville Masonic Lodge. He was self-employed at Ken Brown Meats. He and his wife, Sharon, owned what is now Gateway Restaurant, in Shady Cove for several years.
He loved gardening, outdoor activities, cooking, his family and his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; three children, Diane (Ken) Hoffine, of Roseburg, Karen (Dan) Peterson, of Corvallis, and Loren Brown, of San Francisco; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orrin and Frances Brown.

A celebration of life was held May 17 in the Veteran’s Administration Chapel at SORCC.
